The most popular wood for drum making, maple is a hardwood that produces maximum resonance, projection and attack. Less tension on a drum shell equals lower pitch, thus a lower fundamental note. For bass drums and floor toms, 9-ply VLT technology provides ample low-end punch, while still retaining maximum resonance and attack. VLT 333 can be ordered as an option on all Collector's Series Maple Drums and is included on pre-configured SSC (Specialized Shell Configuration) kits.

Condition:
This is a brand new kit that was played in a clinic demonstration by the DW artist Russ Kunkel. They were then resealed in the original factory boxes. There are some stick and beater marks on the heads. The resonant bass drum head has been ported.
